'God took the stars and he tossed 'em, Can't tell the birds from the blossoms'.
This set of six prints explores themes of self-formation, loss, and the breakdown of meaning. Inspired by the Tom Waits song, Green Grass, the artwork draws parallels between the construction of visual identity in graphic design and the psychological process of individuation, mirroring the disorientation experienced during grief. The artist points to the insignificance of names, forms and colour when confronted with loss, suggesting an experience where language and perception lose their usual structure. The series also hints at modernist concepts, like Kandinsky's pursuit of objective truths in colour and form, highlighting a link between the creative process and a search for order within the nebulous landscape of the self.
